Reverend Dr. Bishop Peter Ignazio
Bruno, Sr.
Nearing his 5th decade of full-time Christian
Ministry, this oldest son of eight siblings,
raised by
a pastor in a godly home and reared on an onion
farm in Oneida, New York, has grown into a
Spiritual Father and an inspiration to everyone
that he
comes in contact with. He is the Senior Pastor
at Nutley Abundant Life Worship Center, and
has been so since 1970. Through his legacy
of leadership,
he has fathered 22 churches directly or indirectly
and has birthed over 50 sons and daughters
into full-time ministry. A gifted preacher
and teacher
of God’s Word, he has led 2 tour trips
to the Holy Land and was a guest itinerant speaker
for Host Pastor’s in the country of Argentina.
His vast background has included the leadership
of the East Coast Youth Ministries of the C.C.N.A
(Christian Church of North America), full-time
Church and Tent Traveling Evangelism Ministry
in the United States, numerous committees and
boards. He had even authored a book called, Worry-Free
Living, all while maintaining a vibrant church
ministry in Nutley that has seen the growth from
it’s modest attendance of 50 people in
1970, to over 800 people today. He has overseen
the moving of the church from it’s Bloomfield
Avenue address in Nutley, when it was called
Nutley Assembly of God (a modest 10,000 sq. ft.
building) to it’s expansive current address
on Washington Avenue in Nutley (a 120,000 sq.
ft. facility).
Bishop Sr. and his wife, Minister Rose Marie,
host a vibrant television ministry that is broadcast on the internet and aired
throughout the Tri-State Area each week on numerous
cable networks that reach out to a potential audience
of 3.5 million viewers. He also realized his dream
of a Christian School when in 1986 Abundant Life
Academy debuted in the basement of the former church
property with a handful of students. Today it is
a school of high academic excellence with a strong
emphasis on the Spirit of God. It is a culturally
diverse school with a student body of over 200.
It meets the needs of all children in grades pre-k
to 12th.
He currently has numerous churches in his care
as their Presiding Bishop. While being a firm believer
in supporting the missions field each year financially,
he has designs to raise up people to send them
out as full-time missionaries.
Bishop and Minister Rose Marie, married since
June, 1958, have raised four children and currently
enjoy 13 grandchildren. Their two sons are full-time
pastors in New Jersey and their two daughters are
active with them in church ministry in Nutley.
